Read em and weep... no USA teams in the top 25.

http://www.sailing.org/rankings_tab... =6&rankclass=189&rankdate=latest

Interestingly, looks like 8 or 9 of the top 25 teams have women steering. Spin that however you please...

The US teams have only participated in half the events compared to the leaders. Not saying that would catapult them to the top, but surely it would help. Here is a per event comparison (not that it is really a great tool, but it is another data point):

Sarah/JC average 125.5 points per event

The current #1 averages 155.8 points per event
The current #10 averages 126.3 points per event
The current #15 averages 111.5 points per event
The current #20 averages 115.3 points per event
The current #25 averages 97.3 points per event

Over a full season with equal participation, Sarah and JC would move into the top 20 at least (maybe top 15).

Maybe. The same case can be made for any number of Europeans as well...

Agreed. If you take the Top 50 from this list and calculate points per event and resort this is what you get:

1. Darren Bundock
2. Billy Beeson
3 through 12 are the original top 10 in order
13. Sarah and JC
14. Enrique Figueroa

Basically, shuttles two of the best sailors to the top - but the rest of the top 10/12 is already set. Obviously, this is just an exercise in fun, but somewhat interesting. It does not take into account improvement, yada, yada, yada ......

We're not weeping. We're working our butts off to be the best.

Cheers from Hyeres.

What's changed since you were ranked higher? What do you need to get back in front of the fleet?

Currently top 25 (21) with only 4 of 6 events in the tank. Headed to Oakcliff for a couple weeks of training, then off to Santander to prep for worlds, then directly to Rio for the Test Event.

Working hard. Hi to all our friends on the CS forum!

Props for all the work to stay in the mix with this brutally talented fleet!

Nacra 17 racing started at Kiel Week today. The new team of Stephanie Hudson and Ian Andrewes are the only US team there. Currently sitting in 8/23 (31 registered, lots of DNC). Best of luck to them!
