monohull sailors

Welcome to Pete Cullum. He has done a lot of open water sailing and is now interested in catamarans. His interest is stimulated a great deal by the changes in the America's Cup. My guess is he is not alone. So, if one of these guys shows an interest in our sport, invite them out for a sail. You just might have a convert.
As a (former)young 505 racer, I never took cats seriously until the 1988(?) America's Cup, when DC used that 60' cat to destroy the 140' ultralight sled of Mr. Fey. That was my
Ahh Ha
moment, that and all the guys who were sailing big Trimarans in the Trans Atlantic races and making some incredible speeds.
Too bad Wildcat was so light air, if you could have had him out in 15-20 I'm sure his eyes would really be opened!
In the next AC, with big winged cats, I wonder what the High-Low wind limits will be for racing. I can hear the mono slugs bitching already about cats no being able to withstand higher winds and waves.

AC wind design range is already published at above 3k and below 33k. Batten down the hatches bitches...no more of this 18k limit monohull crap.
AC72 wind limits 3 to 33, and allows removal of top section of wing.
Location San Francisco, if red tape does not block schedule for 2013.
And a feeder/series class named AC45.
