I question why you would want to go to Google Group? I can easily add another Forum just for the Nacra 20 Class, where you can officially hold meetings, elect officers, do polls, or whatever.
It can be open so other cat sailors can see the direction of the class, and thereby entice new sailors...,
or I can set it up so it is closed to only paid members. Your Call.

What has Google done for you lately?
And what has Catsailor.com done for you lately?

Rick, I think the issue is that google groups allows members to receive posts by email. This is important because there are a large number of N20 owners who have a much lower level of engagement with the web than most of us here. They simply don't have the inclination to visit a website on a regular basis just to find out if there is something new. Email on the other hand allows the class to push messages out to that broader audience. Given the importance of the issues currently under discussion, I think it's understandable that they have gone for this solution.

That's it Rick, what Mark said. It was only to be able to get messages directly to them and know that they are received at the same time vs.

Oh ,I never saw that

response.
Catsailor is the lifeblood of Communication for all of us , no question. I would love seeing a N-20 only forum, but I think the mailing list is a more direct approach to the issues we are facing now.

p.s. How's it coming on those inner tubes? I never got a receipt with the proper shipping.Thanks.

Understandable, and this forum offers that. All you have to do is go to preferences and indicated you want emails of postings.

My inner tubes turned up in Oz last week, thanks Rick!

Does it really need to be boat owner's? what about boat crews and those support people around the class?

Crews also are invited but if it ever comes to a voting thing it's one vote per boat i.e. the owner.
