[#28819]

Surfing on beach cats' websites I just found an interesting new.
At BIMARE they are working on a new 14' design to be offered in two different versions:

basic

intended for sailing schools and recreational use and

racing

aimed to prepare youngsters to A cat sailing.
I avoid to spend more words to clarify the concept behind the two boats beacause they are clearly explained on BIMARE website at the link:
http://www.bimare.org/enproject14.htm
It is worth saying also that BIMARE is asking opinions from the beachcat community in order to set the main design parameters of the racing version, (width, mast lenght, mainsail area, weight, etc) together with the fundamental marketing decisions such as name and retail price.
Apparently the first to put forward some proposals was BIMARE Benelux, the official Bimare distributor for Netherlands and Belgium, which already posted on its website a few specifications concerning the 14 Project:

What do you think?

Board spammer.

You're such a fake-butt PR mouthpiece.

The sad thing is Bimare don't (shouldn't?) need this dick***d constantly putting forward their news as if he's in no way associated with them. It does Bimare a huge disservice.

Hey Catfan, considering the number of people over the last couple of years that have called you out for what you really are (a lying fake and mouthpiece for Bimare) and pointed out how bad you make a good builder look, why do you persist???? <img src="<>/frown.gif" alt="frown" title="frown" height="15" width="15" />

I can't believe that the Bimare team welcome the sort of publicity you give them <img src="<>/confused.gif" alt="confused" title="confused" height="15" width="15" />

Jalani

I do not know why you are so angry with me.
If you don't like me, please avoid to read my postings.
I cannot imagine any reason why I should be blamed for highlighting from time to time info that I believe may be of interest for the general multihull community (but you and a few others).
If you read all my postings you'll find that many are NOT BIMARE related.
Anyway I repeat that I am not associated with BIMARE even if in the past (not NOW) I owned a few BIMARE catamarans.
I do not undestand why you do not reserve the same

punishment

to (just to name the first I remember of) NacramanUK or SurfCityRacing, who are supposely guys who make their living from selling some specific brands of catamarans.
I always read with pleasure their postings even if I have sometimes the suspect that they are biased.
I believe that we all have the right to express politely our opinions. Do you agree?
Besides I did not express any opinion in favour of BIMARE, but simply indicated a link where to find info.
Do I reserve to be described a lying fake for this?

Catfan,

I'm new around here, and I have to admit that when I saw your first post in this thread, it looked a lot like spam. I almost reported it as such, but I decided to follow the link to make sure first.

I think the reason it seemed like spam is because you didn't give your own opinion on the subject, maybe if you did you wouldn't get so much flack.

Do you think they should make a box rule? Why?

I think there is an interesting discussion buried here...

I can understand Jalani flying off the handle. Afterall Pommieland must be a terribly depressing place to live right now, with its economy in recession and debt levels even higher than the US. On top of that no sun for 5 months means low Vitamin D which must surely give rise to a bit of cabin fever and make one susceptible to the occasion outburst.
