[#14894]

the Southern California Yacht Association Mid-Winters regatta Notice of Race has been posted:
NOR

Date is Sat. Feb. 19 & Sun. 20.

Looks like the same venue for beach cats as last year, Claremount launch ramp or optionally you can launch from Alamitos Bay YC.

Last year we had a F18 fleet, an A-Cat fleet & Open Portsmouth (2 Tboats, 2 I20's, 1 Hobie Fox, 1 Taipan).

Hopefully, we can get a good turn out this time.

Hope so see you there....

Mike.

Looks like all of the west coast Tiger / F18s will be in Santa Barbara (Midwinters event) that weekend preparing for the Tiger Worlds.

Towed the boat all the way to Alamitos Bay YC yesterday to prep for the Midwinters there this coming weekend. Some Tiger guys in the yard were telling me not only the Tigers but all spinnaker class beach cats were racing out of Santa Barbara for the Midwinters venue. The NOR does not state this and no one at the club offce could give me any more details. I ended up towing the boat back home to avoid having to make the 70 mile trip back the ABYC in the middle of the week to reclaim my boat. What a hassle. Still can find any more info on where to go this weekend.

Does anyone know more or who I should contact? Where will the open class cats be racing from?
Mike.

OK, the official word from Rod Simenz is that there will be a group of Tigers racing out of SB, and apparently they have requested certain other spinny boats to join them. But, there will still be an open class & A-class fleet at ABYC. 2 I20's are sailing from there, one of which was there last year and gave us some pretty good racing. So, I'm re-towing the boat back to ABYC for Saturday.

Mike.
