[#21345]

I've confirmed the following with the park staff:

The event is deemed to be running Thursday to Monday. You may set up as early as Thursday at the beach. There will be pick-up/practice races on Friday. Regatta Saturday and Sunday. Pull all boats no later than Monday. FREE! NO PARK FEES!

If you will be arriving earlier in the week you are welcome and the park will accept a $20/day fee from you. The good news is it will likely/hopefully (I'm working on that part) go to the

Give a Gift

fund at the park that helps pay parks and rec fees for kids that need the financial help. So your early arrival fees will go to a good cause if I can help it.

Last year we set up mainly on the marina end of the beach near the pavilion. This year we'll be staging at the other end of the beach near the tiki shack. 6 of one, half dozen of another.

The Village has a strict rule about no alcohol in the park. Don't be wandering around with bottles in your hand.

I've got a nod and a wink that the park staff will look the other way if we are highly discreet and keep to our own

beer zone

which will be located behind the tiki shack. I never wrote this down in public, somebody hijacked my login and posted this. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

No camping or staying in RVs, sorry folks. I can only get so much latitude at once.

Barb,

If you have time, would you mind posting the RV campgrounds in the area that you would recommend. Thanks!

Awesome.... sounds good, I can't wait either.
Can we start a roll call?
F-18s?
N-20s?
I'll be there N-20 #642
And Jake will be there on a 20 right? Since a boat is going to be driven there and back for you.
Brian... let me know if you find anything out about RV camping... i'm working on it too. Who with and what are you racing this year?

As far as campgrounds in the Keys, In the winter months all the state park sites are gone 11 months in advance, so less than month after this years Tradewinds is when you have to start thinking about next year. http://www.floridastateparks.org/
Calusa R V Resort is about $75 a night, I stayed there last year. Only a 20 minute ride.
Also if you didn't know when driving into the Keys the Walmart in Homestead will allow overnight parking, then just get an early start the next morning.

If there is a class of H16's, I may just bring my 16 down and race.
