I got this info from Gilligan:
I'm posting this for Cindy Caron, as her email is not working. She called me a few minutes ago.
He is doing very well and was talking and joking a few hours after the operation. He is at Halifax.
Cindy greatly thanks everyone who helped this afternoon, and regrets that she can't sent this herself. Her phone also wasn't working this afternoon and her cell battery only lasts an hour.
As for Gilligan's Run, Steve will NOT be able to do ANYTHING physical. Of course, he'll be able to yell at us, as to what we need to do.
