any later and our European competition wouldn't have a chance at showing up...I still can't believe they'll be there that late.

I understand. The reality is that me wife might count each of these virtual races as a real race and say that it replaces what I would be doing every Tuesday night on a real boat, on real water, . . . blah, blah, blah

The challenge is due for Thursday NEXT WEEK!.
It has, just, been announced in the european fora.

By the way, what we have been thinking:
- for the name, What about Europa's Cup?. It is just a happy coincidence that Americas Cup is also in Valencia.
- Lets plan for two acts: first hour, team race (from 10:00GMT to 11:00 GMT). Later each team nominates a single boat and match race to the best of three (10-15 minutes with hyper).

Armando, will the team be able to sit around and watch the action? This is going to be too much fun.

Robi,

We need some team racing practice - the tactics are very different.

You mean Cheerleaders. Las batuteras! ahahhaha

NINJA edit:
Also, I know for a fact that there are usually three to four folks from Spain in the game at any given time. The EU sailors will outnumber everyone else together. The teams will be equal as in, only five or six sailors per team?

Don't worry, we reserve 6-8 boats for americans, israelians and aussies. If the places are not occupied and there are more europeans I, to start, will be american for one night.

A.

Friday evening?...but I don't have a clue about the tactics required. Is the idea to get one of your team boats across first or the most of your team boats across first?

First the changes
The points system has changed.
Count only the best 10 races out of the races completed in the last 30 days.

Tacticat programmers have many opportunities to be happy:
- when people repeats after the first sailing and register.
- when sailors enjoy a competitive regatta.
- when sailors playing tacticat improve their real sailing skills

Well, I have to say that these events happen often.
We are really happy.

I can understand that people prefer sailing (even virtual) than reading the manuals, but...

Questions that appear several times:

1. What is the meaning of color tags on boat names?
Red: If your boat does not change its heading or speed it will hit another boat in the next seconds and will be at fault.
Black: (I told you) Your boat has made a fault (buoy hit, boat collision, out of line)
Yellow: You entered a situation where rules 17 or/and 17.1 apply. You have an overlap and if you fall off or don't respect the due course you will be at fault.

2.How to understand windshifts
Keep watch of the tactical compass top-left. Numbers are degrees, green are lift for starboard, red headers.
Windshifts are a random combination of components. Each an oscillatory or stablished or casual change. Follow the changes and take your decisions (but dont forget tacticats are cats and tacking repeatedly dont pay).

3. The new points system
Count the best 10 races out of all races played in the last 30 days. It is clear that having a bad result or playing only against the robots will not improve your clasiffication if you are high ranked (BUT IT IS NOT GOING TO COST YOU ANY POINTS as the race will be ignored for you).

4. Mouse actions
Mouse is seldom used. Left click on field tryes to center the clicked position on the screen (use it to see some part of the field near you)
Right click on boats will give you access to the sailors' profile (where is him from? his name? what's the class(es) he /she sails?

That's all.
And, please, do your 360s. <img src=
