I live in the Bay Area, and there is no sandy beach to leave my boat on. I don't have a yard or a driveway either, and I am getting tired of moving my trailered boat every week for street sweeping.
The only solution I have found is the local city marina. They will rent me dockside space for $2/ft, which seems pretty darn cheap. Does anyone have a design for a cheap, effective and not-too-ugly float/platform that will keep my Hobie 18 out of the water, but let me slide onto/off of it easily? This is not a slip, it is a side-tie, and I have a maximum length of 18" to work with.
