Hi,

What do you want from US Sailing and the Multihull Racing Committee (MHRC)?

Combing through recent posts here shows that there is no shortage of opportunities for the MHRC. Most of our efforts over the past year have revolved around the Alter Cup, now it's time to set our sights on delivering on the rest of our charter.

It's clear that we need goals that are relevant, achievable, and answer the question, “What do US Sailing and the MHRC do for multihull sailors?”

So, we will be having a teleconference to develop a 5-year plan based on US Sailing Regulation 4.04 D, with the following key points:

* Promotion

* Communication

* Handicap Rating Systems

* Safety Programs

* Championships

* Training

Additionally, Liz Walker from US Sailing will be available to discuss the recently announced Youth Championships, which includes the F16 racing for the Arthur Stevens Trophy. In case you missed the press releases, these are the key links:

* Event page (NOR and Application): http://championships.ussailing.org/Youth/US_Youth_Champs.htm

This meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb 19, 9pm EST.

Please send me your ideas, offers to help, etc. Together, we can transform the MHRC into an important asset to every multihull racing sailor in the country.

Mike

Good meeting last night. Stand by for more details and follow up meeting announcements.

If your class rep and/or Area rep wasn't on the call, ask them to attend the next ones, or at least invite a proxy.
