So I found this Hobie 18SX . looks good. Adequate for a 250 pound guy? Solo sailing on large lakes and occasional ocean.
Too old a hull? Seems like a good deal. Thoughts?

Now this i like. AHPC F18. Can it be sailed solo or a bit too much for a first cat?

They are great boats. Seems quite expensive, and that is a galvanized trailer, not aluminum. I will let the experts chime in about what you should be able to buy it for. At your weight, it is a perfect boat. Simple rigging and plenty fast and durable. Pete

Looks nice, I want it. If I had the spare cash I'd try to sell you mine and buy that one.

You still need to inspect it closely since it's a Florida boat that has the potential of being sailed all year.

FYI, a 2002 is a very new Hobie 18 and the ones built 1989 or later are the best of everything.

The price might be reasonable based on what the boat cost new and it's condition but he'll need a buyer that would pay that for a H18 instead of a Tiger or other older F18 designs.

Seriously, how about my loyal members taking up a collection and buying me that boat? 😀
