I have two old H16s, an '83 with an original 3 piece tramp, and a '72 with an aftermarket two-piece tramp, both of which need new tramps. I'm considering a one-piece tramp design but would like to hear from experienced sailors the pros and cons. Also, how do they attach (and pull tight) to the cross/side bars. Thanks for any info.

The bias-cut traps work like chineese fingercuffs - pulling in one direction tightens it in the other. I've never seen one for a H16, but on other boats they are inserted loose into the front and side crossbars, and tensioned aft. Don't have any first hand info, but I've heard they can be a hassle. As they are not made by Hobie, they are not class legal.
