[#22407]

Rolf made me a well earned remark on the DS12 thread, he has never seen me using gloves in the pics when working epoxy. I can give only two reasons; not wearing gloves often enough and hard to take pics with gloves on. I have already made one camera useless by getting all the controls full of epoxy.
Still the worst is not the uncured epoxy. The epoxy is most aggressive when curing and that is normally taking weeks. When grinding not completely cured epoxy one should use those throw away suits that they use in the paint workshops. Still I must be lucky. Made my first fun board glass epoxy in 1983 and no allergy yet, but that does not excuse me, I will try to keep the gloves on.

Gato,
some digicams have the option to take programmed shots and 1,5,10 minutes interval, or whatever set. Also webcams can be programed to do that. That way more shots & more safety. I know Canon can do that.

My Canon 400D SLR can not do that but it is a really nice function to have. Only problem is getting the angles and closeups you want <img src=

I think we are all different with respect to how much exposure we can take before we are sensitized to epoxy. I dont want to take any risks as I want to be able to continue working with the stuff. The comment I made was innocuous enough, I dont think I have seen pictures of your hands with gloves on them <img src=

I wear my full mask when sanding epoxy, cured or uncured. But you are implying that this is not enough and the dust will sensitize you if it gets in contact with your skin? I am using ordinary working clothes when sanding, fully covered, but I have no idea how much dust is going through the clothes and how much is removed in a regular washing machine??

Your remark about my gloves Rolf was more than justified; it’s not good to show pics like that.
As I have had a lot of people working with me and some are really sensitive I have noted than just gloves not scotched to your protective closes are almost worse. The fine dust gets into the gloves and affecting the skin a lot more because it is more fragile of the transpiration in the gloves.
