Just got a Wave!
I believe the closest location would be Pensacola Beach. And most of Florida is quite active. In Key Largo we have 16 boats in the fleet.
We also have many major regattas around the country. Go to www.waveclass.org and you can see the schedules.
Be sure NOT to miss the Nationals in Key Largo. Tons of fun.

Thanks Rick, I guess I'll have to join the class association next. While searching the wave class website I've only been able to find the schedules for 2005.Where are the current ones? Also I noticed in a couple photos that some of your sails are fitted with an extra diagonal batten from the clew to about 2 or 3 ft. up the luff,Is this legal for class events? seems like it would really help with twist off wind.
Thanks JB
Wow, I must have fallen asleep. Sorry about that. It is up to date now.
Class rules allow five battens and the bottom one is allowed to be angled. The theory is that it will help act like a boom vang to hold the clew of the sail down when going off the wind.
The stock Hobie sails do not use this idea, but are very fast. My daughter-in-law just won the North Coast Championship with a stock sail and blew everyone away.
