Under what Wave Rules will the regatta be run? IWCA or HCA?
Since this is a major Hobie regatta, I do not believe the Waves are invited anymore.

HCA is what the NOR says, however, the registration has a section for Waves, etc.. Do current HCA rules omit Waves?

Rick, Look again. It is NOT IWCA rules, it is IHCA rules; in other words Hobie rules, NOT Wave class rules. So, NOT good.

Is one letter going to keep people from racing? We are invited to race, I am registered, the water is warm-come to Texas!

I hope you get lots of Waves to come to the regatta. The problem for a lot of Wave sailors is that they are not eligible to come to a Hobie regatta because they no longer have stock sails and some no longer have stock trampolines. Waves have been around long enough that private owners and rental operations have replaced parts with less expensive ones. And people buy used Waves because they are inexpensive, and they don't want to have to buy new, Hobie sails and tramps to make their boats class legal for racing in Hobie regattas.

However, there may be newer boats in your area that still have stock equipment. I know I still have one of my original stock sails, but I don't have a stock trampoline any more. I LOVE my stock sail, by the way.

Mary,
Thank you for the clarification. My Wave is all stock since she was bought new this year. Our fleet would rather see participation in this event and I can always request that Waves be sailed under IWCA rules in order to get more participation.
