Hi Folks,

My recently purchased used Wave came with trapeeze wires (as well as the funky jib rigging which I'm mentioned in another thread).

Now, since I don't happen to own a trapeeze harness, the question's a bit academic at the moment, but is the standing rigging up to the added tension of a trapeeze? Would I be better off with slightly stouter shrouds and forestays? Anyone have any experience hull-flying with a Wave? How is it (say, as compared to a 16)?

Thanks!

John

Unless the wind's up and you're singlehanded, you won't be needing it anyhow.

With the new add-on of a Hooter, you can trapeze. However, you will need a tiller extension. The typical extension available for most cats will not work on the Wave since the sheets attach to the rear beam behind the tiller bar. So, you would need to get a long piece of aluminum, bend it in the middle, attach the middle to the middle of the cross bar.
In this way the tiller extension will be out both sides of the boat -- if you see a Shark Catamaran you will get the idea.
Good luck,
Rick
