So a very long time ago (a couple of years now) I bought a boat. I took it home with plans to sail it that weekend, started to run my eye over it a bit closer and started to find a few problems with it, the main ones being the deck being very spongy and cracking in a few places, and the jib bridle tangs being loose. Instead of (regrettingly) turning a blind eye to these issues and getting a few weekends sailing in before the season ended, i started to pull the boat apart. As many of you would know, once you start pulling something apart you find more issues, and I am known for getting a little overzealous with these things, which resulted in me pulling the boat apart and rebuilding/replacing a lot of the internals, including replacing all the foam bulkheads and replacing the centerboards and case (purchased from JK fibreglass), among other things.
I definitely learnt a lot in the process, and whilst looking back on it I could have probably built a new boat in less time (and money) it took me to 'rebuild' this one, there is no way that I would have had the confidence (or ability) to start a 'new build' project. I had a lot of fun doing it, and ill probably build one from scratch in a few years.
Anyhow, photos of the hulls below. Remaining things on the 'to do list' are to get the beams anodized (looking like this week) now that all the holes are drilled, put it back together, mount the rudders, work out how to modify the trailer so that it fits (I beamed it to maximum width as per the measurement rules without thinking that the wider boat wouldn't fit on the trailer... - can anyone recommend a welder?), take it down to Sugarloaf and finally sail it <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

Looks great; nice paint job! How much did you increase the width by?
Cheers <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" /> It ended up being about just less than 100mm wider than it was previously, judging by where the rollers sit (I didn't measure it previously). There are no beam supports on the trailer (which id love to add), and the hulls sit on some narrow rollers which the roller supports are welded to the trailer, so I need to move these both outwards. I'll probably end up grinding the welds out and bolting the roller supports into the new positions.
