8th Vic Spinnaker State

Keep a eye on the web page for the Sailing Instructions// should be up shortly……………..
Ryes a great place to sail and we want as many boat as possible even if your not sailing with a spinnaker come on down and sail in the club race sunday afternoon 2 races back to back.

Hi All,
I'll obviously second Gordon's note.
It looks like we will have a full compliment of volunteers for the Sat and Sun with the canteen operating and the upper deck is one of the best places on the bay to watch the racing and socialise, the rigging area is great and the beach really nice too. There will likely be a BBQ operating for dinner on Sat night and there is a beer fridge with the
honesty box
operating for the thirsty souls.
This Sunday looks like being great conditions at the club as well so a warm up could be in order ???? There are two races on Sunday with the first starting at 1330hrs.
Really looking forward to seeing as many Mossies as possible at the club on the 14/15th as possible (those without kites too!!!!) to show off a great class.

I can't do the Saturday but I'll sail up on Sunday morning and meet you at the start. If one of you Rye gentleman could email me an entry form, I'll email it back prior to the weekend.
Hate to win and get protested for not being a valid entry! <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/sick.gif" alt="sick" title="sick" height="15" width="15" /> (Gary, that's laughing myself sick!)

So question for anybody that knows, what is the set up at Rye? If I get down on Friday, can you get access to the rigging area? Is there a overnight lock up area? etc. I have alot of rigging up to do still with this boat.

Gary,
If you get in contact with Gordon he should be able to let you in or organise someone who will let you into the yard. There are external power points for work and video cameras for surveillance overnight, so should be pretty safe there. If you are really lucky Gordon will hang around chewing your ear off as he drinks and watches you work. He is an old hand at watching others work now.
His place is also a short walk away if you need tools or a bench.

You can also leave your trailer locked up in the car park if you have a tow ball lock. There are gates so you can back it into the yard to unload, but the trailers have to be taken out again when you are finished.
There is an honesty fridge for beer or space for your own, and Gordons key will also get you into toilets and showers. Give me or Gordon a call if you have any further questions/queries.
Luke.
PS. Sailing on Lake Macquarie the average temperature each day is about 28. Just saying.
Funny you should say that Luke <img src="<>/shocked.gif" alt="shocked" title="shocked" height="15" width="15" /> , after the McCrae Cat Champs, can't belive the forecast this weekend <img src="<>/mad.gif" alt="mad" title="mad" height="15" width="15" /> , looks like the Peninsula is turning it on again, the cold weather and showers that is <img src="<>/cry.gif" alt="cry" title="cry" height="15" width="15" />.
Has been warmer and dryer here also <img src="<>/cool.gif" alt="cool" title="cool" height="15" width="15" />.

Oh nasty !!!!
I dont need the wetsuit cause I dont capsize as much as you do Luke.......lucky the water temp is not low up there !! <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />

It was hard work at the back of the fleet following a swim in race 1. However a few pointers from Neil late on Day 1 meant a significant improvement in performance and a much better day 2. It is amazing how much you can improve in two days when you put the effort into a regatta like this. Thanks again to all involved. <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

A really really enjoyable weekend! Thanks so much to all competitors who made it a great weekend and congrats to Garry on yet another win 🙂 🙂 To anyone not there or currently without a kite.....it's time to get one and go to the spin states.....a lot of fun and close racing.
