I didn't see the the post on yahoo but they do work quite well on the 5.5. Just have to remove about 10" from the top. Two of the three 5.5's here have tornado mains.

By the way we have now have three M 6.0's and three 5.5's and a 5.0xl on the beach now.

PIC of 5.5, 6.0 with T sails.

Very interesting...Do you have to make modifications to the T sails if you put them on a 6.0?

Mike,

Like Zack and Steve on their M5.5s, I just bought a Tornado squaretop (Ogletree) from Robbie Daniel. I have to get Zack to cut 10" from the top, reconfigure the top batten pocket and replace the headplate (or use the Tornado strap idea).

If you look at the photo in Mike's post you will see the M6.0 with the stock Tornado sail and a M5.5 with a similar sail but with the top cut and the batten dropped a bit.

Now if only I could get a day away from work....

Hi Thomas,

No mods. However the the foot is a bit shorter and the sail is smaller in the roach. You can see that in the pic.

Oh yea, slight correction. The carbon mast sails have a smaller bolt rope. So those would need the bolt rope changed to work on your boat.

One negative is I'm taking a portsmouth hit when racing. B.S.

We get them from Robbie & Jill. They pick up others used stuff and sell it to help them and the others recoup some money. These sails are like new. Most of them hardly used. The one on my boat is cuben fiber.

Hey Catman are you getting the new-old MF20 class MF18 classes started over there or what! We sent some scouts over for the Macho man and gave the area high praises Team Cyberspeed Supercat20TR.So I do plan to get over there .Are all the boats 6.0s or XL's. There has got to be something coming up soon. I thought you had to cut that sail to get in on the 5.5 mast too. looks good! I guess some of these F18 sails will fit too!

You know It's just a good all around boat. One of my buddy's has a 10' wide kit but I think it's a hassle to deal with that all the time. I would like to try it though. I know Jeff was fast about setting his up.So to answer your question they are all standard width.

Well you missed a great memorial weekend. We camped on one of the islands and had about 80 people out for Sunday eve which included live music and three deep fried turkeys. We set a new record for tents on snake island, 36 Good fun. <img src=

As far as F18's go I don't even know how long the masts are. Funny thing is the T sails have been modified to fit not only the 5.5's but you'll see them on a prindle 18, dart 20 a couple of G-cats.

If I want to purchase a spinnaker for my mystere 5.5 with out having to modify the sail, what works? Does a hobie f18 fit? Am I better to get custom built? Im not racing but want to put one on for more speed.
