I'll need...
Hey Gang,
I'll do the membership cards and mail them out. Before I do, however, I'll need the following:
1. I have the names and addresses for individual members, plus individual info for the Beach Cats Assoc. I need individual names and addresses for the Texas Hull Raisers and CABB (I got checks from them but not individual info). Doing the math at $10 per member, we have 51 members.
2. I have a copy of the NAMSA logo. Do we have a color version? I thought it would look nicer than just plain black and white.
3. Looking at my Hobie Fleet and US Sailing membership cards, I'm thinking of putting the individual's name, membership number, and expiration date. Anything else?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Bob Blackington
Treasurer
Bob and all,
I've got the membership card section of the database nearly complete now and I need some input. I've attached a preliminary view of the card sheets as they are currently. This is set up for the Avery 5173 business card sheets. Take a look at the attached PDF and see what we should add. I already intend to add the following:
membership type (individual, chapter, etc)
make logo a little larger
should we add NAMSA contact info (website, etc.?)
Jake,
Nice job! I think putting the NAMSA web site address under the logo would be perfect. As far as envelopes go, printing directly onto the envelope might save a few pennies (the Treasurer in me talking).
Just so I'm straight on this, should I take your file, add the names I have, print and send?
Bob
Bob,
I'm not sure how that will work. I think it will work fine but we'll have to test a page first. I should have the ability to again create a self excecuatable database installation file so you can have access to the membership database features without owning Access. If we can't get this PDF file to work, I will get you a copy of the database that will print all of it directly... if all else fails, I'll print them here and send it all to you in bulk.
One question: is they color ink on the printer you intend to use waterproof? I know the Lexmark inks are water proof but that the HP inks are not. It probably wouldn't make a difference this time around.
Jake,
A couple of things:
1. I think I have Access at home. I'll double check.
2. On the "Member Since" line, could we change the dates to the first of the month? I didn't record the exact dates when I received checks, just the month.
3. My color printer, and the one here at work, are HPs. Do you know if you can buy waterproof ink cartridges?
Talk to you soon,
Bob
