Membership Questions
I've thought about this a lot and I have a few concerns:
1) associations that are "Mugg-Whomp"ing may fall to the far side of the fence and figure "ahhh, our members can decide for themselves now".
2) we will be establishing a precident that may be difficult to change in the future.
3) it makes us look like we are starving for membership.
I say let's take the middle road and put the individual membership at $15 (I would probably even go for $12). This way we are still sticking to our guns but making it much easier for the individual to join.
Pulling organizations is going to be difficult due to peoples feelings of loyalty towards whatever.
If we can work on individual memberships then those members can press Namsa's case in their home waters. Hell, its worked for everyother revolutionary/political idea out their. Let's use this tried and true tactic.
Does it make us look desprite? Not really. Just helps move the message around.
Maybe what we should do is give every member a sticker and have them stick it to their car/boat -- make sure we have the web address for Namsa on it and we have "guerilla marketing" working for us.

Steve-
I personally agree with this approach, BUT- what about making "individual" memberships $12, BUT if you "sponsor" another member you get $2 off your OWN membership (would need a "sponsor name and signature" slot and be more paperwork unless we just "trusted" everybody).
Many organizations do this also. Or we could offer some other incentive to recruit others (from their own organization). I think we should also still provide for organizations to join- for simplicity- if they want and give them a "NAMSA Fleet" designation in that case-
