I’ve been seeing these rectangular hatches to install in a Hobie, but so far only seeing where they’ve been installed in kayaks. Has anyone seen one installed in a Hobie cat?

i have 1 in my 5.5 and one in my 6.0
if i could do it all again - i wouldn't

they are flat on a curved huill and required a lot to get them to seat
they both leak water and i fear for the day i capsize on that hull

I wouldn't go cutting holes into Hobie 16 hulls, unless you absolutely had to, such as for access to the insides for repairs, but that's just me.

hobie 16's are notorious for delamination and somewhat known for hull failure forward of the beams where people add ports

probably the wrong boat unless adding hatches are needed to access the hulls
