Hi, i was looking at my beach wheels and the bearings dont look right.
any ideas?
Get rid of the PVC, that was for the old style you don't need it anymore. You should have 20 delrin rollers inside each hub. All you need is a the flat stainless or nylon washer (mine has both) that sits right against the rim on each side to hold the rollers in place. Give the rollers a spraying with sailkote before you seal em up. If you are converting from old style to new you may need to drill a new hole on one side for the cotter pin to go through as the old holes were wider apart.
i bought them like that... and i have a metal washer.
do i need the nylon one?

sailkote is not recommended for bearings.. it will cause sand to stick to em' and leave flat spots

I happened to have both the old metal and the new nylon ones when I converted mine so I put the metal against the wheel and the nylon next to it and then cotter pinned it. You probably do not need both.

Didn't know that I kind of treat it like WD40 for the boat. A little here and there helps everything. 😀 But mostly I apply it to the edge of bolt rope that hits the track most every season.

a swollen boltrope / dented track is a good use for sailkote , so is sparying on a spin so it will snuff better...

I even used it in a pinch last night to loosen up a stuck lock on my cat box.
