Quick Q

I am restoring a 1997 Mystere 6.0. I had to take the hull lids off and before putting them back on and gluing them down for good I was wondering if it makes sense to add a few layers of fiberglass to the bottom just to give it a little more backbone since that is where I will be standing and sitting most of the time.

Or, if I wanted this area to be stronger, do I need to build up more of a structure beneath it like the existing bulk heads? If so what material is this? Looks like some kind of foam covered in fiberglass.

I like to use a sail batten contour to fit the under belly of the deck , perpendicular to that under belly. This "bridge" add great strength at a fairly cheap price and simple project. First, make a template out of a piece of cardboard to figure out that contour then transfer that to a batten, dry fit it and fiber glass it in place.....
