And yes that applies to Americans as well. You guys are trailing behind a little bit. If you want to be taken seriously in votings, as was expressed in some post recently, they you MUST take the effort to become an official F16 class member.

Wouter, there was some debate a couple of weeks ago about the precise parameters for membership qualification. Did you get closure on that?

That discussion is still going. Although some things are certain. I won't be charging membership fees, too much hassle and I'm not going to spend the time on it that is required. No-one else volunteered for it so this decision now stands.
The other points are still up in the air, but these don't have to influence the entlisting part. The rules will be such that we'll get maximum approval of sailors AND volunteers. Anybody who still doesn't agree to the mild limits that will be set can always be purged from the membership listing in 2006. As a welcome 2005 membership is open to anybody owning a Taipan 4.9 + spi, Stealth, Blade, Taipan F16, Mosquito + spi or One-off F16.
More on this in the coming weeks. We will take some time to think it through thorougly

Since you have e-mail addresses for most of the F16 boat owners in the world, are you contacting them personally by e-mail to let them know about the membership?
Surely, you cannot be expecting that everybody is going to be checking in on this forum. How many of them even know about the forum? And HOW would they know about the forum?
The only reason Rick and I know about the forum is that we are hosting it on our web site. But how do other people know?
I really am curious about this. 
It is being covered.
