Suddenly today the leeward daggerboard broke in half while we were out in the waves. I am trying to contact John Pierce. Is he still active with his boats?

The Stealth F16 uses a standard 49er daggerboard. Any 49er supplier could sell you one.

John is still around and making to order. He can be contacted via email at stealthmarine(at)tiscali.co.uk

Oh my god they were expensive!
Ovington Boats have them at 577GBP. Do you know of any other shops in europe?

Build one <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />

Or repair the broken one, if you still have both parts..

Speaking of building. Is vacuum bagging small parts (dagger board size) worth the effort? I'm doing something similar and it seems good vacuum pumps are expensive.

If you are getting into building, get a vacum pump. If you have a compressor you could consider a cheap venturi vacum pump. Alternatively pick up a used refrigderator compressor from a recycling center.

I think the later Stealths has a specific board and not the 49ER which the early boats had. Length was the same but very different in chord width.

I have a spare wider 49er style board which is sitting in the back of the garage which I could sell for not a lot of money, where are you based ?

Pete,
I have had great luck with one of these. No oil. Does not get hot even when running for 12 hours straight. Around $250 seems to be the going price on ebay for a used one.
