Most of us can't get it stateside (I think discovery or someone rebroadcasts the program) but Ellen was on Top Gear (an excellent British car enthusiast program). They have a long ongoing series of putting celebrities in an average car, sending them around a track, and maintaining a lengthy "leader board" with everyone's results over the past couple of seasons. Ellen proved to be pretty talented behind the wheel - but I won't spoil it. It's a great watch with a lengthy entertaining interview. (If you're talented finding and downloading Bit Torrent files, it's out there - Top Gear 2005.12.04)

two words: Carpal Tunnel

Any idea why the four door Suzuki Liana was the race car of choice?

Because it's a heap of crap!

Also a nice little anecdote by the presenter Jeremy Clarkson about pitchpolling a hobie, and 17 stone being decelerated from 20knots to a standstill by a harness strapped to his testicles.

A few years back Top Gear did a season on water based craft, called Top Gear Waterworld, they did a program on Texel when I was there. They had a camera on board another british entry, I remember speaking to them in a bar after the event and they said they couldn't use the sound they had got as it consisted mainly of expletives.

Apparently she set some sort of track record for non professional drivers. How's the digital copy coming along?

I've downloaded a digital copy C/o Jake, just having a nightmare editing it down - Windows Media player will play it. Windows Movie Maker does not recognise a Codec on it so I cannot edit it.

Currently working out why WMM won't read the file.... Grrrrr...

I downloaded a game demo the other night that was 768mb.

I deleted it after playing it for 15 minutes

And thanks for letting me have ot Jake.

I'm trying (and failing) to chop it down to 50MB which is my web web space limit.

Alright...it's here at http://www.teamseacats.com/jake/Top%20Gear%20-%20%5b07x04%5d%20-%202005.12.04.avi

I don't have a great deal of bandwidth so if I get close to maxing out, I'll remove the file.
