I want to cover a couple repair patches on my I20 mast(CF). I added a CF/epoxy patch about 2 1/2 diameter to each side of the mast at the rotator attachment. Can I use gel coat? It seems to have gel coat over a primer or transition material from the factory.

It has an Imron or some other two part paint system on it. I would use paint instead of gelcoat.

Depending on the epoxy, Gel coat (polyester) may not harden or it could react badly.

If matching the paint is an issue, use something close and find a couple stickers to cover the repaired area.

I do have some Imron white. I guess I'll try that. Can that go directly on the repair/ current primer/ current paint?

Matterhorn White is a shelf item at your local West marine usually, its a pretty common color and/or base
