Try posting this on our Hawaii forum. Click on

Main Index

at the top of this page and then scroll down to the Hawaii Hobie Cat Association forum.

If you don't get any response there or cannot find anybody to contact, get back to me by private message or e-mail, and I'll give you an e-mail contact.

They have a big group of cats on Oahu, but maybe they know what is going on on the other islands, too.

Kehei

You're about 20 miles south of me. I'm in Kaanapali. I understand Kehai has a decent launch ramp. Mala in Lahaina gets the on shore trades making it worthless so I launch at Airport Beach.

There is no multihull action here. The two YCs have said they'll support a separate multihull start if three boats show up. I thought I had a couple of Corsairs lined up but they chickened out.

What kinda Hobie do you sail? I've got a 20.

It's a small world. I belonged to Fleet 20 for years. I still talk to Tom Burling on occasion.

The Lahaina YC has an Olson 30 that's used for racing. There's a few other leaners that race. There's always crew spots available.

Are you bringing the 20 with you?

Bummer. The local dealer wanted $4k just to ship the boat in. I went back to the Mainland and got the boat, trailer and boat box shipped over for $1300. They can't understand why they don't do more business.

If you'll be looking for a boat here there may be a I20 available.

I wonder how the monohull sailors felt watching the Hobie 20 sail away from them even while pulling a surfer.

It was light that day 10+-
15 to 20 with Jake single handing or 25+ with crew is the best way to go with my 6'0" not that fish.

Going to miss you Jer.

The wake borders fallow us around the lakes when it's to windy for them.

It's a lot of fun!
