Can someone point me to the thread on foam type non skid, like on sailboards? Seems like I've seen something on it in the past. If not, anyone have experience they'd like to share?

Dave

I put that stuff on one of my boats once. Never again. Any color fades bad. And it also wears out. I like 3M Safety Walk Medium Grit.

Good luck,

Mike,

Interesting comment. Isn't this the stuff on the Infusion Mk. II's and Falcon F16/F18? http://www.murrays.com/mm5/merchant... ;Product_Code=41-2991&Category_Code=

Sorry I'd link to the catsailor store but hydro turf isn't listed.

Does it fade that bad if you keep your boat covered and out of the sun? The 3M Safety Walk feels bad on bare feet, doesn't stick great to gelcoat and is somewhat similar to what is already on the side of most race boats.

The Falcons have this stuff SeaDek I have it on my C2 and LOVE IT! I've had it for a year and there is no sign of fading or other detoriation. I do store my boat outside but it is always covered. Even though it's black it does not get unbearable during the summer in FL where as Mr Roth pointed out we live 1 mile from the sun.

The stuff at SeaDek is 5mm. I think the stuff that Falcon and the C2 uses is 3mm. I talked to Matt at Falcon and he will sell you the 3mm that they use. Great stuff.

How much do you need to do the decks?

SeaDek makes a 3mm, that's where Matt gets it. Made in the USA. I think you just need to call as it's not listed on their website.

How much do you need? Find a tape measure.

I bought a sheet of 40

x 60

3mm HydroTurf and installed it on the deck of my A-class ala Infusion style

Love it and would not hesitate to do it any other boat I own.

Mike which texture did you go with and can it be wrapped around a tight gunwale radius?

What color? Yellow camo? Purple marble? Here's your chance to show your sense of fashion!

That yellow camo color actually looks pretty sharp. Should go well with a white hull, no?

Dave

We have the EVA grip cut for the Capricorn and the Infusion in 3mm in light grey or dark grey.

We are out of pre cut Infusion kits. Sorry.

Ordered the deck gripping from Matt at Falcon Marine. It's $165/sheet, difference is this comes with the adhesive on it vs. the other kits that require contact cement.

It's also available that way from Hydro-turf.

Not sure the price difference etc., I didn't call Hydro Turf. Matt was a pleasure to work with, ran me through the installation procedures and tooling on the phone, and had the stuff shipped UPS within 24 hours.
