I think you answered my next question to you catman I now have put it together. You own the boat from team Key West as Pomodoro was lost at sea in 98 .........!Team Pomo. never finished the race on thier M6.0 they did however nail it on a N6.0 in 99 Team Key West did finish the 98 W. Great footage of team Pom. and team Tybee ,they almost took nose off of Blisses boat reaching to shore.
When I got my boat it had a few green stripes with MYSTERE 6.0 SE on the side. Does the Key West boat have that striping or POMODORO. The boat I have is the only one I've seen with the S.E. I've never weighted the boat but I've heard the S.E. was built lighter.
Now I have to watch both videos again . I believe it's the KW boat unless Pomi bought boats for each race 97,98 the latter boat was lost 11 miles offshore cause the coasties could'nt tow them in.They sent out a 41'ft cutter but had to return and get the 43' which took a wave on which knocked out all the navigating electronics. They were asked however to use pomodoro's GPS to navigate home.... The KW boat was having trouble with water in the hulls.
I would be interesting to know. I got it from a guy who bought it from Hans Miejer. His sister owned a restaurant in Virginia beach called Pomodoro. Imagine that. At least that's the story I've been told.
Dave Parker used to live up that way and he told me he used to see it sitting on the beach up there. He used to put his fishing tackle box on it.
Maybe some sort of "divine" intervention brought it back??
